On this overnight tour you will get to experience the arctic wilderness with snowshoes or wilderness skis and spend an unforgettable night in a traditional peaceful wilderness hut located deep in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. We will use snowshoes or wilderness skis during the tour and with the skis or snowshoes we can access the vast untouched snowfields of the National park with ease.
OUR Overnight TOURS to a Wilderness hut
Our 2 days 1 night wilderness cabin tour tours usually start around 10-11 AM at Pyhä Ski Resort or Luosto and we will pick you up from your accommodation. We will start our skiing or snowshoeing towards the wilderness hut and on the way we will have a tasty outdoor lunch by campfire. We will ski or snowshoe through the arctic wilderness and we will reach the wilderness hut by afternoon.
The hut will be a private traditional wilderness hut that we can heat up with a wood-burning stove that will keep us warm and cozy even if it's cold outside. We will also heat up the sauna and you get to have a real Finnish sauna experience in the arctic. We will also prepare a dinner made from local ingredients. If the sky is clear we can hopefully see some northern lights during the night!
The next morning we will prepare breakfast and enjoy a peaceful morning in the arctic wilderness. We will start our skiing or snowshoeing back and will have an outdoor lunch on the way. We will be back in Pyhä or Luosto in the afternoon around 3-5pm.

GUIDE
Our overnight tours to a wilderness hut are led by an experienced local guide. We keep safety as a priority.
GEAR
You will be provided with snowshoes or wilderness skis and ski poles, sleeping bag, headlamp and a sled/touring pulk. All guests should bring suitable and warm winter clothing for this outdoor activity. Use warm boots, hat and gloves. It's advisable to bring a back pack with additional layer (down jacket etc.) to use during a break and swimsuit/towel for the Sauna. We will send an equipment list prior to the tour.
FOOD
Breakfast, 2 x lunch and dinner are included in the tour price. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.
THE HUT
The wilderness huts are a traditional way of overnighting during snowshoe and ski tours in the Finnish National parks. We will book a rental hut so the hut will be private hut us. The equipment of the huts includes sleeping platforms, a table, benches, cooking utensils, a stove, a gas cooker, wood-burning stove/fireplace, sauna as well as a dry toilet. In addition, the huts have mattresses and we will provide sleeping bags.
