Ice fishing is a traditional form of wintertime fishing in Finland and this relaxed activity is a perfect way to spend time outdoors during the winter. Our ice fishing tour takes place in lake Pyhäjärvi in Pyhätunturi and the location offers great views to the nearby fells and nature of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Ice fishing is suitable for everyone and the tour can be tailor-made for your liking.
On our ice fishing tour we will provide necessary equipment and you'll get to learn the techniques for fishing in the winter. We will find a good location and will drill holes with ice auger to the thick ice of the lake. You will use a specific fishing rod and bait to catch the freshwater fish from arctic waters. OUR ICE FISHING TOURS
Ice fishing is a traditional way of fishing in Finland and on our tour you will learn to use the equipment and the technique for ice fishing. We will be on a frozen lake and you will get to drill your own ice fishing hole with an auger which is a type of manual drill made specifically for drilling fishing holes. You will get a seat and ice fishing rod with bait and your guide will explain and teach the technique for fishing.
During the tour you will learn the type of fish that live in the lakes in Finland and what type of fish is usually caught with a an ice fishing rod. We will make a fire to a close by campsite and you get to enjoy warm drinks and a light lunch during the tour.
The tour starts from Pyhä Ski Resort area and the duration of the tour is 2,5 hours.
